CAREER

Hello! I have recently moved to Montreal from Victoria, BC, and I am very happy to be here.

I have been practicing massage therapy since 1991, and I still gain great satisfaction in helping people maintain or return to optimal health and well-being.

I graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Ontario in 1991, and have practiced mostly in BC since then. Both provinces require a rigorous educational program, with regular continuing education. I also spent ten years as a primary instructor at two accredited massage colleges (BC and ON).

I am a current member of the RMQ.

TREATMENT FOCUS

Massage therapy can be a great tool to preventing stress-related illness and overuse injuries, and can serve as an important partner in rehabilitation. But there is more! A massage therapy appointment is a time for you to relax, a mini break from the busy world, a moment to reconnect with your body, and to offer it some TLC.

I really enjoy working with people, one-on-one, and find that my work energizes me, especially when I am able to help people feel their best! In my sessions, I strive to create a calm, friendly and peaceful environment, and provide a balance between therapeutic and relaxing techniques.

I have worked with clients from infancy to their final days, and I appreciate the way that massage therapy can balance, restore and rejuvenate, as well as alleviate chronic pain.

My experience includes working with clients who are experiencing the following:

  • Autoimmune disorders such as Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, etc.

  • Chronic pain

  • Arthritis

  • Headaches

  • Lower back pain

  • Various orthopedic injuries such as sprains, strains, tendonitis, frozen shoulder

  • Post-operative recovery

  • Postural imbalances

  • Stress-related muscle tension

  • Pregnancy and post-partum

  • Perimenopause and Post-menopause

  • Post-exercise muscle soreness and injury

My techniques include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal and infant massage, neuromuscular techniques such as Trigger Point therapy, and basic craniosacral techniques.

In particular, my treatment of neck and shoulder tension, including head and scalp massage, has kept clients coming back to me for decades.

A little more about me: I love to explore new parts of the city on foot. I also enjoy tennis, hiking and swimming, and reading, cooking and gardening for relaxation. I try to strike a balance between my massage therapy practice, my family and my career as an author—I have published five books, three of short fiction and two of poetry.

I hope to meet you soon. Thank you!
