Osteopathy: a sovereign therapyThe “back pain” (low back pain, neck pain…) is the workhorse of many medical or paramedical specialties, rheumatology, vertebrae therapists, physiotherapists… The therapeutic approach of these conditions by osteopathy is different by design and by the use of specific techniques. Different because the osteopath believes in the majority of cases that this symptom is the result of a more complex logic. For example, back pain may be related to stomach upset or a gallbladder dysfunction. Specific because the osteopath uses a range of therapeutic tools ranging from spinal manipulation to visceral and cranial techniques.
Osteopathy: therapy for all agesIn children, the back pain may be generated by wearing a too heavy school bag, a fall, a scoliosis and should never be overlooked. In the elderly, pain can be avoided, even with osteoarthritis or osteoporosis. Soft, suitable techniques will relieve them. This original approach does not exclude in any case examinations or conventional balance sheets, to be réalablement made.
Osteopathy: suitable therapyBack pain: = PAIN OF DIFFERENT ORIGINS The practitioner, through the osteopathic diagnosis, can determine the different origins of pain. Taking into account the totality of each individual, it treats the structures involved in causing this suffering. For example, the mechanical stress on the lumbar area is increased or caused by local or remote factors from the painful area and depends on background:
- functional spastic colitis
- uterus poorly positioned, endometriosis
- visceral scars and adhesions
- consequences of falls, car accident
- sprains (ankles, knees)
- head injuries
