Osteopath D.O.and Physiotherapist, Member of Ostéopathie Québec and the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec
Anne’s underlying goal being education for all, she came to a time in her career when she wished to take up new challenges and make advances in fields that had always been dear to her: holistic health, healthy eating, physical activity, mental health…
To do this, she partnered with Brice Gagliardi, another osteopath. She hoped that with this new project, both her clients and the general population would benefit from her vision of health. She believes in teamwork and that when two people work together to solve a problem, their strengths and the fruits of their labour are more than doubled. She seeks to provide relief for an individual’s every need. Her values include: acceptance of the person as a whole, the power of education, an enlightened view of the self, and self-criticism and self-correction with the support of peers.
It is with great happiness and pride that Anne sees therapists from 7 different disciplines working side by side at the clinic. The results have already surpassed her expectations and the number of forthcoming surprises is as great as the possibilities for new approaches to health and wellbeing.
She has other ideas that have yet to come into fruition: among others, teaching a course on foot care, since too many people forget and mistreat this part of their anatomy. One of her dreams is to take her hands and mind to emerging countries so that people in need might benefit from specialized services in Osteopathy. One thing at a time… first, nurturing the wonderful clinic that is Clinique Altermed, open since December 2008, and the other projects will impose themselves in due course.
Osteopath D.O., Member of Ostéopathie Québec
Graduating in 2003, I began my professional career in France with numerous work placements in different regions. Through specialized post-graduate training and work in hospital environments, I discovered the benefits and enrichment that are possible when conventional and alternative medicines work together.
A holistic approach to the patient is essential. The physical, spiritual, and organic being is born into a world governed by social and cultural liberties and constraints. It must learn, according to its own rhythm, to define itself, evolve, and withstand an environment chosen and understood according to its capacities, its courage, and its choices. All of this is understood over the course of a lifetime with moments of physical and cultural transition, injuries, and traumas that are more or less visible or profound depending on one’s experiences.
Proudly bearing the title of osteopath, I began devising a practical method encompassing the following aspects: the creation of an interdisciplinary clinic and an emphasis on understanding the natural mechanisms that allow the body and the individual to find balance.
Thanks to my interests in images and technology, I developed, in collaboration with other passionate individuals, a platform for making emergency appointments online seven days a week. Clients can consult calendars from a distance and read specialized information on our blog. We have also participated in numerous health trade shows and established partnerships with organizations that reflect our values.
Proud of our experience and of our clientele, Anne and I are dedicated to making everyone consider alternative medicine among his or her choices of therapy. We believe in the sharing of information with the medical milieu and propose treatments adapted to patients’ individual needs.
Neither osteopathy nor any of the other disciplines practiced at the clinic can do without each other. The challenges of working with a body and a human spirit require all our attention, our dedication, and our ability to react to the sensitivities, the rhythms and the expectations of all according to our understanding of the intimate connections between them. Thanks to one another, we are invited to discover them each day. This is what we’re all about.
